We are a mother daughter team in Middle Tennessee that support humane agriculture and have a love for artisan crafts.
This blog will explore hand spinning from the artisan's view point in an educational format. We have a traditional approach and we focus on the sheep to shawl process. This includes animal husbandry, agriculture, cleaning fiber, processing, spinning, some weaving, and knitting. There's allot to cover and we are excited about exploring our love for fiber and farming.
Our main goal is to build a platform where fiber lovers can come together and learn new techniques and appreciate how we all work together in the amazing process of turning plant and animal fiber into clothing, decor, and works of art. We will be visiting farms, getting to know people at different stages in the process, and have all sorts of adventures!
When possible we purchase fleeces locally from farms that we have personally visited to ensure all animals are treated humanely and the farming practices are sustainable Hopefully, through this blog you will get to meet some of the coolest shepherds we have the pleasure of spending time with.
